The numbers are in, our son is tiny, well except for his head, which he can thank dada for. … he also seemed to inherit my appetite so I’m betting that number in the middle is going to skyrocket. Actually we got his percentiles about two weeks ago, and since then his thighs are significantly more Smart-like. He’s getting super cute. Planning on taking some more pictures soon. Here’s one from the carseat the other day:

This was taken about the same time as we got his percentiles. Those little legs look a little different now.
Although he is a little shy of the 8 lb weight cutoff for the baby carrier, we decided to try it anyway ( I was feeling a little guilty till I remembered my parents letting me “exaggerate” my weight in second grade to make the 65 lb cut off to bungee jump from a crane in our grocery store parking lot — also a milestone because it’s the only time that I’ve ever lied about my weight to be heavier. Lying in the other direction is a horse of a different color. <cough> driver’s license </cough> ) Anyway, this post is about Bayliss. It wasn’t long into our hike when we turned around because his torso wasn’t quite tall enough to let him breathe out of the top of the carrier. Maybe in another week or two.

I've got the side flap open so you can see the little man. With it closed it may as well been a body bag.

Looking HAWT by any standards, but for just having a baby a few weeks earlier. Yowzas. I know this is gonna embarrass Michelle, maybe enough to have her login to our blog and change it. Then at least she won't have the excuse of "I don't know how to login" to keep her from contributing to the family blog any more.
